K-theory computations for topological insulators

Aaron Royer
University of Texas at Austin

Recent work of Freed and Moore has explained the role of twisted equivariant K-theory in the classification of topological phases of band insulators. After a brief review of their work, we will introduce techniques from equivariant stable homotopy theory to the computation of these K-theory groups, with a focus on specific examples. Joint with Dan Freed.
