Hybrid Control Problems in Air Traffic Networks

Claire Tomlin
Stanford University

In this talk, I will discuss our research in developing models and new control
methodologies for networks of aircraft in the National Airspace System (NAS). The
talk will focus on the modeling of the NAS at two levels of granularity, and will
describe our research in the development and validation of delay predictive models.
I will also describe our work in developing control protocols for (i) cooperative
spacing control of multiple vehicles assuming a lossy datalink, and (ii) protocols
for multiple aircraft collision avoidance.
