This presentation will review various stochastic dynamical models allowing one to analyze the throughput obtained by a collection
of long or short lived flows controlled by TCP (the transmission control protocol of the Internet) and sharing a collection of
links/routers.
We will first study the case of active queue management. This leads to transport type PDEs which allow one to determine in closed form the stationary distribution of the stationary
throughput obtained by the flows.
We will then study the droptail case where we will show that the short lived flow case may lead to some bistability phenomena.
